Storms don’t last forever

This photosession was basically a miracle. We finished seconds away from a massive storm unleasing upon Sydney. But no rain or gloomy skies could  overshadow the inner radiance of this beautiful family. I think pictures speak louder than words.

Photography Tips – How to Dress for Couples/Family Shoot

Every time I have a shoot I do my best to make my clients look and feel wonderful in front of my camera. Prior to the actual shoot I send simple guidelines on how to prepare and what to expect from our time together. Here are some simple rules, which I hope will help you to look your best in the pictures!
Dress for the weather
It is no fun to be freezing in front of the camera. The cold and discomfort will definitely affect the quality and quantity of the pictures. All you will think about is wrapping up the session as quickly as possible. Being hot and sweaty can be even worse! This is why I always recommend shooting during sunrise or sunset (Golden Hour). The air temperature is pleasant and the light is gorgeous.
Dress in one style
If your pick for the shoot is a beachy and summery outfit, your partner (or children) shouldn’t be wearing a suit or dressy clothes. Such a mismatch looks awkward in the pictures. It is quite important to stick to one style: casual+casual, cocktail+cocktail, business+business.
Dress for the place
A dress, shorts and sandals are going to look lovely at the beach or park. If your photoshoot location were a restaurant, city streets or picturesque interior I would recommend wearing a cocktail dress, shirt, pants and dressy shoes.

Last but not least: pick an element, which will visually bring you together. For instance red shoes on a girl and red bowtie on a guy, blue headband and blue belt, purple blouse and purple jeans – well, you get the picture…

Choose clothes and accessories, which show your personality. Camera loves unusual things. Pick the outfit, in which you feel most comfortable and […]

When Home is Your Favourite Place to Be

I was absolutely thrilled to be invited to the new home of my fellow photographer and amazing woman Natalia. She wanted to have family pictures in the comfort of their new home. And oh my god! I had one of the most enjoyable photoshoots ever! Not just because it was easy and fun to shoot these warm and sincere people; I found it deeply meaningful and intimate that they wanted pictures to be taken in their favourite place to be – a big blooming garden they designed and are looking after purely by themselves. Natalia, Sergei and their little daughter Veronica are such friendly people! I felt so welcome in their house. I feel blessed meeting such talented people and now good friends!

The Great Family of Five

I believe that true beauty is harmony. By watching this family – the looks they gave each other, the little gestures, jokes and smiles they exchanged during the photoshoot; made me think they are pieces of a puzzle, which work perfectly together. I know how important respect and love is in any relationship, but to me they were the living example of these two vital things. On that day I observed and learned what strong family ties are about.

Elena and Con

This was one of the shortest but warmest and most emotional weddings I ever photographed! This amazing family gave me chills from the love they were emanating. What I really liked about that day – it was free from wedding day anxiety, strict plans and crowds of guests. It was simple and happy – exactly what you want life to be.

The Ocean Seen From The Sky

I close my eyes and can only hear the sound of the sea. The waves beat hardly with all their strength on the rocks. I lie protected in a small, round rock formation. It’s windy and cold, but in here, I am protected from the harsh wind passing over me. I am warm.
Nothing more is relevant except the sea and me. At this very moment I feel completely one with the world. I am immensely happy and found my inner peace, even if only for a few precious moments.

Autumn Family Session in Melbourne

A gorgeous family of travellers and happiness seekers, who this time happened to be in Melbourne at the same time as me. :) Their children and true wunderkinds, who already speak three languages: Chinese, English and Russian. This will definitely broaden their horizons and open many doors in their future. Way to go!

Farewell to Summer

Volkswagen Kombi is an international icon known as the “hippie van”. However it is not just a car; its unique look has thousands of fans around the world and has its own spirit, culture and aesthetics. It suits Australian lifestyle perfectly: sandy beaches, surf, ocean, road trips and plenty of sun.

I want to thank Dan, who provided this gorgeous van for the shoot. He took an old rusty Volkswagen Kombi and turned it into this beauty!

Moana and Alex were probably one of the cutest and hottest couples I’ve ever shot and you could see why: both originally from Latin America they definitely have got fiery passionate love for each other! After Moana said that she was always a little bit hippy inside,  I knew I picked the right concept for the shoot.

We shot these pictures in the last days of summer in Australia and the evening couldn’t be more perfect!

Soul Meets Body

This was the first time I travelled inland of Australia. We drove for around 150 kilometres from Sydney and reached this serene gorgeous property in Southern Highlands, NSW.  And I must tell you, it turned out to be no less beautiful than the Australian coastline! I loved green valleys, curvy smooth hill lines, the play of light on its slopes. This is the type of landscape I feel blessed contemplating.

I did my best to convey peaceful close-to-nature meditative state of this place and of a gorgeous pregnant woman in the pictures. Samantha was 30 weeks pregnant, and she was looking amazing! Sam is an athlete and her lifestyle is very healthy and active. Truly, she is an inspiration to many. No doubts, her pregnancy was a breeze. I wish her easy labour and her little one to be the happiest baby on the block! :)
