Karina & Sahil Wedding at Ripples, Chowder Bay

Sydney and its suburbs are a true goldmine for wedding photographers. Concentration of beautiful beaches, luscious greenery, cozy streets and cafes are second to none. I feel very lucky to work in Sydney as a wedding and family photographer. I feel that way not only because of how beautiful  nature and the actual city is, but because some of the most open, thoughtful and kind people I’ve ever met live here.

This wedding is a proof of all the above. Karina and Sahil are gentle and generous souls, their deep love and respect for each other unveiled in front of me the more I got to know them. They had their first wedding in India in February and this was their second wedding in Sydney. They picked a magnificent spot to get married - Mosman, one of the prettiest suburbs in Sydney. It was a treat to photograph in Chowder bay for the first time. It is a full package for a wedding photographer: picturesque little beach and pier, clean park with lots of pretty vegetation and cute buildings around the bay make it a perfect location for photos.

Karina and Sahil also picked a venue with great views and wonderful atmosphere – Ripples restaurant, just a few minutes walk from Chowder way beach.

I hope you enjoy looking through some of the moments from their big day.

Engagement Party at Sydney Royal Botanical Gardens

Sydney Royal Botanical Gardens – is a perfect spot for a celebration! Iconic views of Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge; blooming trees and flower beds; open grassy spaces;  unique cactus garden and dreamy city skyline – all of this make it one of the most wanted venues for many couples.

This engagement party was a complete surprise to Fiona. Hari and Fiona’s family and friends put their heart and soul into creating a truly special day for Fiona and Hari. She was overwhelmed with what she saw and couldn’t hold back her tears of joy.

I suggested to have a walk around the gardens at sunset. I invite you to have a look at a few highlights from this heartwarming celebration. Congratulations to Fiona and Hari to be engaged in one the most beautiful spots in Sydney!

Planet Crimea

Spectacular views of the Crimean peninsula and two people in love make my heart smile..

Diana & Alex – Centennial Parklands

What a great idea to celebrate your first year wedding anniversary with a photo-session! We wondered into the woods of gorgeous Centennial park to document this day. Congratulations Diana and Alex! May your love for each other always be as strong as it is today.

Photography Tips – How to Dress for Couples/Family Shoot

Every time I have a shoot I do my best to make my clients look and feel wonderful in front of my camera. Prior to the actual shoot I send simple guidelines on how to prepare and what to expect from our time together. Here are some simple rules, which I hope will help you to look your best in the pictures!
Dress for the weather
It is no fun to be freezing in front of the camera. The cold and discomfort will definitely affect the quality and quantity of the pictures. All you will think about is wrapping up the session as quickly as possible. Being hot and sweaty can be even worse! This is why I always recommend shooting during sunrise or sunset (Golden Hour). The air temperature is pleasant and the light is gorgeous.
Dress in one style
If your pick for the shoot is a beachy and summery outfit, your partner (or children) shouldn’t be wearing a suit or dressy clothes. Such a mismatch looks awkward in the pictures. It is quite important to stick to one style: casual+casual, cocktail+cocktail, business+business.
Dress for the place
A dress, shorts and sandals are going to look lovely at the beach or park. If your photoshoot location were a restaurant, city streets or picturesque interior I would recommend wearing a cocktail dress, shirt, pants and dressy shoes.

Last but not least: pick an element, which will visually bring you together. For instance red shoes on a girl and red bowtie on a guy, blue headband and blue belt, purple blouse and purple jeans – well, you get the picture…

Choose clothes and accessories, which show your personality. Camera loves unusual things. Pick the outfit, in which you feel most comfortable and […]

Farewell to Summer

Volkswagen Kombi is an international icon known as the “hippie van”. However it is not just a car; its unique look has thousands of fans around the world and has its own spirit, culture and aesthetics. It suits Australian lifestyle perfectly: sandy beaches, surf, ocean, road trips and plenty of sun.

I want to thank Dan, who provided this gorgeous van for the shoot. He took an old rusty Volkswagen Kombi and turned it into this beauty!

Moana and Alex were probably one of the cutest and hottest couples I’ve ever shot and you could see why: both originally from Latin America they definitely have got fiery passionate love for each other! After Moana said that she was always a little bit hippy inside,  I knew I picked the right concept for the shoot.

We shot these pictures in the last days of summer in Australia and the evening couldn’t be more perfect!

Orange Love

Meanwhile on the other side of the Earth it’s Autumn. And I must tell you, I can smell the withered leaves and damp air from here. I can see golden and bright but barely warm sun rays descending through twisted and half naked tree tops. Autumn is filled with mystery, nostalgia and hope for soon coming summer. […]
